A Good Week

It was a regular old, typical good week. One of those weeks where each day was spent doing normal, mundane stuff, nothing special, nothing outrageous ... a typical good week.

Easter ... yes, I made an Easter basket for "the kids." I did 1 family basket for Kid#2, as I wasn't sure exactly who/how many were coming for dinner.  They brought the food - a wonderful smoked pork loin. There were 3 of them, plus Mom, My Cute Husband and me. And an awesome Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake.

Years ago, I made some smocked Easter eggs. I no longer had little ones to adorn and I wasn't done with this type of needle craft.

Then I started doing wool applique. I didn't have a ton of wool and sourcing it was not as easy as it is today.  When I was stitching these, My Cute Husband thought they were footballs and he was confused ... certainly not the time of year to make footballs - it was spring.  I also tried some needle-felting on Styrofoam eggs ... I'm over that.

I did finish the "Velma" sweater. It's waiting to be blocked. My new knitting project is another baby afghan. It's an easy pattern and I had 6 skeins of perfect white yarn.

I have finished 6 (of 24) Flower Garden applique blocks. I'm loving how this is going.  And, I made some progress on Border #1.

AND ... I finally got out the paints and got organized for a BOM that started in February. I'm 6 blocks behind because I was so intimidated by this whole process.  I decided I needed to do a practice block.
Sew ... here's Elvis the Fish.  He's painted. Now he needs some major quilting done in each painted area.  This is going to be another challenge ... we're supposed to do it on our sit-down machines.  I think this is really why I have been avoiding this project - I'd rather do it on my Handiquilter.  BUT ... I accepted this challenge and I do want to get better at sit-down quilting.

Elvis has weird eyes. I may have to correct this before I quilt him.  My goal for this week ... quilt Elvis!

I also got my hair cut, did my volunteer day in 2nd grade and planted a rose bush.  That was my week and it was a very good week.

I'm avoiding quilting on my home machine too.
