Today In 2nd Grade

Earlier this week, Kid#2 had me in to visit her 2nd grade class and show them how my drop spindle works.  Today I went back to help them do some weaving.  It was GREAT!

When she showed me the "Creative Station" classroom (sometimes referred to Maker Space), I knew this was going to be a fun activity.  I thought it would be a fun activity, until we looked around.  We found cardboard looms but no yarn.  How sad is that!  One quick text message to my knitting group ... and we had yarn!

The kids picked their color (most of it was multi-colored.  We set them up and away they went.

They loved it!

Boys and girls ... everyone enjoyed making their very own little rug.  Just like the lady in their story this week. I really enjoy volunteering in 2nd grade.
