CAT MAT

Earlier today, the Cute Husband needed a favor.  He wanted to know if I could spend a little time this afternoon in my sewing room.  Honest to God ... he asked me that.  Gee, let me think about that for about a split second ... OK!

He wanted to wrap some Christmas presents AND watch football so ... could I be busy elsewhere?  That's why the "cute" in Cute Husband!

So ... I sewed!

What did I sew?

I'm sure you've seen LOTS of Mug Rugs ... they're all over bloggy-land.  But - have you seen Cat Mats?  I decided my kitties needed a placemat.

A little piecing ... from leftovers (of course), a layer of batting (yep - leftovers again) and I used terry cloth for the backing.  I think the terry was leftover from bibs I made years ago, quilted, bound and DONE!

The batting and terry cloth will work great catching the water drips.  And because the Cute Husband had a lot of presents to wrap ... I made 2.

Life is good around here ...

That is a good idea, a mat would be fun to make and easy to clean.

Those are darling! Those cats are big boys? girls? Too bad that dogs are not fastidious and generally are slobs when they eat - I use boot trays under our pooches dishes.

What a wonderful idea! Those are darling. Like you, I've made plenty of mug rugs and enjoyed making them. Now I can make these cat mats. Yours are so bright and cheerful. Thanks for sharing.
