Southern Comforters of Bowie holds an annual retreat at West River Retreat Center. It's a wonderful facility right on the West River. 35 quilters for 3 days with lots of fabric and lots of snacks ... some call it PARADISE!!!
Here's what our work room looked like when I arrived ... I was the first one in the building.
Here's what it looked like 24 hours later ...
It has become an annual tradition that we make a pincushion. Last year it was a toothfairy pillow. This year - we made birds. We all used the same bird pattern but no 2 birds were the same.
I'm talking birds with attitude ...
Staying up late (I made it until 2:30 one night), eating MM's for breakfast and sewing, sewing, sewing ... too much fun, not enough sleep and a finished quilt - photo tomorrow.

Sounds like the retreat was a lot of fun. Love the birdie pin cushions!
Hurray for pincushions! I just bought a whole bunch of patterns all in one collection, which I'll share with you the next time we get together.
The pincushions are adorable! I am heading out at noon today for a quilt retreat with friends...can't wait! A little snow and ice is not going to stop me. Looks like you had loads of fun.
