A Little Too Close

There's close and then there's stupid close.  When I was making the backing for a quilt, I changed my mind on how I was going to piece it. After making adjustments and cutting and sewing and pressing - I suddenly realized my math wasn't exactly right.  No big surprise here!  My math is often a bit off.

I knew it was going to be tight but doable.  It was - BARELY enough.

I trimmed the batting off before the photo.  You can see the bottom edge of the quilt (I don't know why the picture is sideways) and you can see the leader and pins.  WAY to close!

I had to take out my Leader Grips - the clamps took up a 1/2" that I really needed.  Pinning gave me just enough to quilt!

Next time - I'm going with a gigantic back and trimming off what's excess. That was too close.

And I often use the extra backing for the binding so I have no problem with TOO big.

Oh yeah, that's way too close for comfort! I'm glad you were able to make it work!
