A New Sock

#53 is finished - an easy take-along sock so it's time to start another. I love starting a new sock - the possibilities are endless. I never know what the yarn is going to look like as it knits up. Take-along socks (or purse socks) have to have a very easy to remember and "read" pattern. I have to be able to pick it up from whenever I last put it down and mindlessly knit - in the car, waiting for Mom at the hairdresser, anywhere I have 10 minutes to kill.

This one is from mystery yarn. The label is gone and it was already wound into a ball. I don't remember where or when I bought it. It's pretty in a subtle way - yellow and blue/gray with a teeny bit of metallic thread.

I hope that someday...sigh...that I will actually be able to knit socks "mindlessly". I still have to pay such close attention, especially at the heel and toes.
