OFF TO TEXAS

I'm headed to Texas in a couple of hours!

My friend (and very first quilting buddy) and I are going to a week-long quilting retreat at the T-Bar Ranch in New Braunfels, TX.  We will spend the week learning and stitching with Sue Spargo.

Here's what I was hoping to pack for sewing ...

But ... it didn't all fit in the suitcase and that doesn't even include my knitting!  Thankfully, I'm flying on Southwest and my bag (and his little bag friend) get to fly for free!  I reorganized what I wanted to bring and made the brilliant decision to piece the background and NOT bring a gazillion yards of fabric.

If that doesn't work ... Lisa told me that we'd be visiting several "really good" quilt shops along the way.  I'm so relieved!!  I won't have to go totally cold turkey.

I'm also bringing a back-up project to work on.  Don't have any idea how much time we'll have for other sewing but I sure don't want to be caught without something to work on.

I started this on my guild retreat a couple of weeks ago.  12 out of 42 blocks - done.

Hopefully, I'll have lots to show and tell about when I get home next weeknd.  I'm still not sure I've conquered blogging from my iphone/ipad but I'll try.

If you don't hear from me - fear not ... I will be back!

Ooooohhhhhh! I'm totally intrigued by that background! Can't wait to see what you're going to put on it, but I'm sure it's something wonderful.
