SPINNING

Sunday I took a class for Beginner Spinners. It was very humbling.  How can something that looks SO easy on a YouTube video make you feel like you're all thumbs?

Or maybe make you feel like you have NO thumbs ... which is what Diva is thinking!

I spun the red/pink during the class and then came home and spun the brown.  I'll save all this because someday (when I'm old), I'll get it out and realize just how much better I am at spinning.  At least that's what I'm hoping!
This wheel did come home with me but it's a rental.  For $25, I get the pleasure of finding out if this whole spinning thing is really for me.

Ah...see??? This is why I keep telling myself I don't need another fiber hobby! A drop spindle leads to a rental spinning wheel and a rental leads to purchasing a spinning wheel and before you know it your sewing room is full of fleece and yarn and there will be sheep in the backyard! LOL

See that's how I feel about knitting. I love to crochet and thought knitting wouldn't be that much harder. So I watched a bunch of you tube videos and the only thing I can manage is casting on. The rest is a complete disaster. I need a class with an actual teacher to show me how it is done. Good luck on the spinning!

How great that you get to rent the wheel to see if you like spinning before having to lay out the money for one of your own. Sounds like you might be on your way to another creative outlet :)

Looks like a lot of fun! (I like the image of sheep in the backyard) and just don't prick your finger, that always leads to a lot of drama in a Disney movie :)

Ma -a-a-a-a-a-ry! Are you starting a farm? Cats, dog, now sheep (you know you'll get curious about starting from scratch...)
