MACGYVERING

Dawn, of SpringWater Designs, brought me a top to quilt with the batting and the thread.  It's going in a magazine!  Someday she'll show the whole thing but for now ... here's a little peak ...
UH-OH! She brought thread, but not enough.  Ever have THIS happen?

I went through 2 spools of the thread and got nervous (only had 1 left) so I made a quick dash to Joann's to get a couple more.  They had ONE spool of the correct color and it came home with me.  I thought it would probably be enough and promptly wound 2 bobbins and started quilting again.

Can you guess what happened next?  Did you guess that I ran out of the thread on the spool?  You would be correct.

So here I am, with thread on the bobbins and none on the spool.  The bobbin doesn't fit on the thread spindle and there's no way to get it back on the spool.

So ... Sew ... I did a bit of MacGyvering on my HQ - gotta love a paint brush and some painter's tape!!

And all was right in my world!

Another sewing crisis averted!

Beautiful quilting and good idea to finish it with.

Just for that you get to leave a little extra messiness in your studio -- out of chaos comes genius, so keep it up!
