A HELPFUL TIP

This cutting mat is at least 8 years old.  I know this because I bought it when we lived in a different house and we've lived here for 6.5 years.  I LOVE this mat.  It's really big - 40" square.  And it's really beat up.

Today ... I turned it (again).   I don't turn it over, I do turn it around - I like using the lines ... when I can see them!  I'm now on the last side. What an amazing difference it makes when cutting.  These "self-healing" mats are great but they do NOT last forever.  Changing your rotary blade is needed sometimes (I don't do this nearly as often as I should) but I did discover that rotating the mat can make a huge difference.  So ... today ... rotate your cutting mat.

I mailed off my Mug Rug Swaps this week.

And I quilted the 5th (out of 6) quilts for a customer/friend.

hmmm ... here's another shot of it.  Seems I forgot to take a picture of #4 ...

Now ... off to work on something ... not sure what but I KNOW there's something down there just waiting fo rme.

Isn't it amazing how something so simple as turning the mat can make all the difference in the world? Love your mug rugs - absolutely darling. The quilting you did is wonderful and so perfect with the patriotic colors of the quilt.

Wow great quilting job! Thanks for the mat tip. Have you ever tried one of those mat cleaning towels? I hear they are great but haven't tried one yet.
