On Mother's Day, my Cute Husband decided that my mom and I both really needed a NOOK - it's Barnes & Noble's e-reader. WOW doesn't even describe how great this gadget is ... in seconds I can download a book ... anytime, anywhere. AND - Mom and I are linked together so when she buys a book, it goes right into my NOOK and when I buy one - she gets it. Thankfully - we both read the same type of books ... murder and mayhem.
So ... my Sew and Tell for this week ... I made my mom a new purse. I went into my sewing room early yesterday (in my jammies) and came out at 1:00 with this ...
I gave it a long strap because she likes to wear her purse across her body. Here's the back - a zippered pocket to stash her cell phone and cash.
AND ... the best part ... are you ready?
It holds her NOOK! Aren't I too clever?!! It also holds her credit cards on the left with a flap cover that's velcroed down. I've seen lots of binder covers, book covers, etc. so I played around with several ideas and I'm just so pleased with how this turned out.

That is completely awesome!
Wow so nice and such detail! Good work!
Wow, really awesome! Great job!
You seriously need to market this! The velcro alone that keeps the credit cards in place deserves a Nobel!
great finish!!!
Very creative and adorable too! Lucky Mom!
Nicely done! What a great gift!
Wow! That's perfect! Share the pattern?
That is simply perfect!! I have to have one!!!
Awesome! I've been toying with the idea of making myself a person, and you've got some great features there. More food for thought.
That is absolutely adorable! I love the idea that it holds her Nook, too! So much inspiration......
Very cool bag--how fun for you to have her visit.
wow! what a great little bag! And that nook looks very interesting. "mmmm. Do I need one of those?"
Wow! What a great gift for your mom, especially since you took into consideration the way she likes to wear her strap. I'm so glad she's able to visit. And what a wonderful NOOK arrangement you have for sharing books!
