WWII

Today I'm flying to Florida to join my sisters and Mom.  When I arrived at my gate, a flight had just arrived.  It was a World War 2 Honor Flight - from Cleveland,OH.  Southwest Airlines sponsors these. The veterans fly for free (with a "guardian"). They come to Washington,DC for the day.

What an assume sight. Every one of these men is at least 85 years old and each had served our country.  Probably kind of hoaky to say - but I was at first speechless (I know, hard to believe), then I was teary-eyed. People clapped and shook their hands and thanked them.

My Dad was a WWII vet, he served in the Navy. Just thinking another all this leaves me feeling proud to be an American.

I have a friend who works for Southwest and she does the flights at least once a year. The picture of your dad in his dress uniform is great.
