RETREAT FINISH

Do you know what this is?

Do you have any of these?  I'm not talking about the actually plastic craft box.  The box that is wonderful to hold WIPS - works in progress.  The box that keeps all the parts and pieces together for an unfinished quilt.

I'm talking about an ... EMPTY project box.  Yes, indeed ... an EMPTY project box.  Empty - because ...

The quilt top is finished ....

This is a Deb Tucker pattern - No "Y" Seam Carolina Lily.  Deb's directions are great - very detailed; you never wonder what exactly she wants you to do.  I took the class specifically to learn how to do the "migrating geese" and was NOT disappointed. This class was offerred at Quilt Odyssey, July 2010.  Not a really old UFO but now it's not a UFO at all!  Retreat sewing can be SEW productive.

Here are my bird pincushions.  A parrot with some bling ...

And a snowbird ...
My friend Cappy gave me fabric that looked like knitting.  My friend Teresa figured, if he was wearing a sweater then he really should have a hat and scarf.  My friend Amy suggested that if he was dressed for winter, he really should be wearing snowshoes.

If you never get to sew with friends - you are missing so much fun and inspiration and fun and fun and fun.

Beautiful Carolina Lily! Looks really old fashioned. The birds are a trip. I also liked the one with attitude.

No empty box in this house. Love the quilt and the birds. Fabric that looks like knitting?! Who would have guessed!

I can't remember the last time I had an *empty* project box! Just another MD quilter dropping in to say that your work is really inspiring!
