MISSION ORGANIZATION

Over the weekend, when I should have been working on this.  I was finally finishing this.  And when it came time for binding ... I decided it was time to face this ...

I emptied out my basket of leftover binding pieces.  Some of them were really long - I think maybe they were prepared for a quilt and got lost ... did that ever happen to you? Or maybe I just changed my mind and made new binding ... yeah, I'm sure I didn't LOSE already made binding.  Besides ... it wasn't lost if it was in my basket ... right?

Anyway ... some of it is probably usable as is (meaning long enough) but a lot of it wasn't so I stitched together smaller bits in related colors to make long enough, usable binding on a future quilt.  I love using scrappy binding on a scrappy quilt.

And now, I have this ...
My basket is still full but at least it's not overflowing.  I even measured and noted how long each piece is for easy (future) use.  And ... YAY!! I have successfully organized a bit more of my sewing room - at least for now.

Way to go Mary. What a great way to organize your bindings.

What a great idea!!! I will definitely use this idea. Now I just have to figure out where I put all those left over bindings...their not lost mind you, they know where they are, and I remember putting them there so I would be able to find them all. I just don't recall right this moment where 'there' is, LOL!

One of the other things you can do with leftover binding, since it is 2 1/2" wide, is use it for jelly roll patterns. Have fun deciding...!
