Quilting at the Lake

Apparently it's snowing like crazy in Maryland (where I live) but it's only a little rainy here on Lake Gaston (where I am for the weekend). No - I'm not staying in the boathouse. I am staying my sewing buddy's house and this is the view from her back deck. Donna just started blogging. Stop by and say HI!
A couple of times a year, Donna and I get together for a weekend of sewing, visiting, sewing, eating and ... did I mention sewing. This trip happened to fall at the same time as Pat Sloan's winter stash busting challenge. For me ... it all started with this bag full of patriotic fabric. 2.5" strips and 10" squares.
A little sewing, a little cutting and a little more sewing ... and a quilt top is finished.

But ... there were still more strips ... a little more sewing, a little more cutting and still more sewing - and another quilt top is complete.

Did I mention that it was a big bag of patriotic fabric? I'm STILL sewing and cutting and sewing strips. Tomorrow, I'll show you yet another top. AND ... in case you think this was all work and no food. Donna and I did take a break an enjoy some Jellie Bellies!

The photo of where you are staying looks idylic! Really like your patriotic quilt. The pieced border really brings it to life. Don't you love those jelly bellies!!

I just peeked in at the Camp Sloanie Flickr group and saw this! Love it! I'm playing mad catch up to have something to share.
Sounds like a perfect getaway:) Have fun!

Sewing with a buddy makes so much difference! But it looks like you are productive anyhow--really like the flying geese in an earlier post. So, what are you going to do with all these rwb quilts?
